Eastern District Family,
We miss you already. It was a pleasure to see everyone in Atlantic Beach at the 62nd Annual Conference: “Public Health: Post COVID – What is on the Horizon”
Battle Betts orchestrated a befitting panel discuss that we could all relate to. Dr. Zack Moore opened a door of knowledge from the 1918 Pandemic while relating it to our lived experiences from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A quote that correlates between the panel discussion and Dr. Moore’s presentation:
“Self-care and mindfulness won’t cure all problems, but we need to find ways to take care of ourselves, make sure our staff feel valued, and acknowledge trauma of the prolonged response.”
Are you taking care of yourself? Have you taken that much needed time off?
Thank you to everyone who stepped up and made this conference a success. It was hard work, but it was a rejuvenating type of work.
What’s on the horizon for Eastern District North Carolina Public Health Association this summer? July 1, 2022, marks the 63 years for EDNCPHA. We remain committed to protecting and promoting the public and personal health of the citizens of Eastern North Carolina by maintaining and equipping this wonderful association of public health professionals. The Leadership Team will be meeting soon to begin planning for the 63rd Annual Education Conference on April 25-28, 2023, in Nags Head, NC.
We promise to do our best in planning relevant education, activities, and atmosphere that will foster a closer working relationship between our association members. In the next newsletter, we will be able to reveal our 63rd Annual Conference theme, so be looking for that in the Fall.
Speaking of new year and members, be proactive and go ahead and complete your EDNCPHA membership application. Let’s shoot for a goal of 63 paid membership by the end of 2022. You can do your part by sending in your membership now and recruiting a new member in your professional network.
