Message from the President

“Dear Eastern District Family”

I am reaching out to each of you today to inform you from your survey responses we will not be having a face to face educational conference in April. Once again, it is the Covid 19 pandemic causing us to have to make this difficult decision for the second time. I would like to share that if you have already made reservations for the April conference, it is your responsibility to call the hotel to cancel your reservation.

The Executive committee still feels that we as a membership should have some type of conference this year. We will be meeting on February 19, 2021, to begin planning for a virtual conference. Since we are still aware that Covid is at the forefront of all public health activities, we are thinking of doing the virtual conference sometime between June – August. So please be on the lookout for upcoming information soon.

In closing, I would like to THANK each and everyone of you for your service to public health. The citizens of NC are in very capable hands as they reach out for the Covid vaccine. It takes a very special person to work in the field of public health. You are those “very special People” and we again Thank you for choosing to work to make NC a better place to live! However, I would like to remind everyone to take care of yourself. So, whatever it is that you do to recharge/reduce stress please continue to do so for you are important to all of us.

– Sincerely, Rhonda Ashby, EDNCPHA President
